Privacy Policy

Emmanuel Community's Privacy Policy exists to guide the collection and use of information submitted by individuals and groups engaged with Emmanuel and our ministries, including but not limited to, Ignite Youth, Emmanuel Worship, Emmanuel City Mission and Impact Uganda.

Collection of Your Information

Emmanuel Community collects information about our members, participants at our events, and various other people or groups who are interested in connecting with our community and ministries.  We collect this information for the purpose of contacting you about upcoming events and initiatives, keeping you informed about developments within the Community or our ministries, providing products or services you have requested, and managing the Community and/or events in which you are participating.

Methods of collection of information include, but may not be limited to, registration for events, signing up to one of our newsletter/email lists, and informal requests to receive information about the community. 

Use of Your Information

Emmanuel Community is committed to handling your information with sensitivity and respecting your confidentiality.  In some cases, we may need to disclose information about you, including sensitive information such as health considerations, to third parties such as catering, transport and health care providers, in order to enable us to manage the Community and/or events in which you are participating. 

We will not use your information for any other reason without your permission, except where required by law.

Collection and Use of Your Image

Events and activities of Emmanuel Community and its various ministries are often recorded by photograph, video or audio ("Images"), for the purpose of recording the event or ministry and for use in creating promotional material.  Registration for many of our events requires consent for the use of Images recorded during that event.  In other cases, where possible, we will endeavour to contact the people involved before using their Images. 

By attending an event or activity of Emmanuel Community, including its various ministries, you agree to Emmanuel Community using your Image for the purposes stated above. If you do not give permission for your Image to be used where you are a focus of the Image, please advise us in writing. You may still be visible in Images of crowds or large groups where you are not a focus.

Accessing Your Information and Image

You can request access to the personal information that the Church holds about you by contacting the Privacy Officer. We will provide you with access to your personal information unless we are unable to by law.

We will do our best to provide copies of any use of your Image we may have on file, however we do not catalogue the Images we have on file, and therefore it may not be possible to access all copies of your Image upon requested.

Anyone, at any time, may unsubscribe from our newsletter/email list or otherwise request in writing that their details be removed from our database.

If you wish to change personal information that is out of date or inaccurate at any time please contact us. In this case, we will take reasonable steps to correct any of your information which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. If you wish to have your personal information deleted please let us know and we will delete that information wherever practicable.

Changes to this Policy

From time to time this policy may be reviewed to ensure it remains relevant and appropriate.  Any changes will be included in updated versions, as available online at www.ec.org.au or by contacting the Privacy Officer.
